How I Got Started

In 2016, I faced a crossroads. The owner of the recycling plant where I'd been working was retiring and selling the business. After years of building relationships in the pallet industry, I realized something: I genuinely enjoyed the problem-solving aspect of this work. Helping companies find the right packaging solutions, improving their operations, and being the person they could count on when they needed answers fast.

So I started Top Packaging Products. No corporate overhead. No bureaucracy. Just direct access to someone who knows the industry and cares about getting it right.
 

My Background

Before entering the wood and pallet industry, I spent over 30 years in corrugated and paper packaging. I hold a business degree, and my background in finance and sales gave me the foundation—but the real expertise came from being in the field, working with clients, understanding material specifications, and learning what actually works versus what just sounds good on paper.

When I transitioned into wood products and pallets around 2012, I brought that decades of packaging knowledge with me. The combination gives me a unique perspective: I understand the full packaging ecosystem, not just one piece of it.

My Expertise

Over 40 years in the packaging industry has given me a comprehensive understanding that most specialists don't have. I started with over 30 years in corrugated and paper packaging, which taught me material specifications, supply chain logistics, and how packaging integrates with production operations.

When I transitioned into the wood and pallet industry approximately 13 years ago, I brought that foundation with me. Now I specialize in:

Wood Pallets & Products
Standard pallets, custom specifications, recycled options, and new construction. I understand material grades, load capacities, and how different wood types perform in various applications.

Export Compliance
ISPM-15 heat-treated pallets for international shipping. I know what customs requires for Mexico, Europe, and other markets—and can explain it in plain terms so your shipments clear without delays.

Material Sourcing & Flexibility
Access to multiple suppliers means I'm not locked into one factory's pricing or availability. When hardwood costs spike, I can pivot to softwood or quality recycled alternatives that meet your specifications without compromising performance.

Logistics & Timing
Understanding the Indianapolis-area distribution landscape—Hamilton County, Madison County, Plainfield, Whitestown, and the major logistics hubs. I know which suppliers have capacity, realistic lead times, and can actually deliver when you need it.

Cross-Material Solutions
My background in both paper and wood packaging means I understand your complete packaging ecosystem. Sometimes the pallet solution connects to your corrugate needs, or vice versa. I see those connections that single-product specialists miss.

What Drives Me

After more than 40 years in packaging, I still enjoy providing solutions. There's something satisfying about helping a company improve their packaging line efficiency, reduce damage in transit, or find a creative solution to a problem they've been struggling with.
